Connecting extreme heat, worker exposure, and corporate supply chains
The Hot Spots Project is creating a searchable database, by industry and geography, for identifying worker exposure to extreme heat risk in wide range of corporate supply chains, along with action items for companies, policymakers, and civil society organizations.

The database is a collaborative student research effort among the project partners: WSP’s Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change practice and the University of Oregon.
We’re just getting started! The planned project elements include:
- a searchable database of extreme heat risk, by geography and industry
- undergraduate and graduate student research projects, guided and curated by professionals
- collaboration with companies interested in understanding extreme heat risk to workers in their supply chains
Here’s a research output example (focused on extreme heat exposure for workers producing olives and olive oil in Greece).
